What is Teeth-in-a-Day™?

Teeth-In-A-Day refers to dental implant procedures that can be completed in a single day. The dentists at our North York practice offer this option based on the individual patient’s needs.

Before going into the details of Teeth-In-A-Day and All-On-Four, a brief explanation of dental implants is in order.

What are dental implants, exactly?

Dental implants are titanium posts that are “implanted’ into the jaw bone.Titanium is unique in that in can actually bond to bone, much like a natural tooth root would. Once the implant is topped with a dental crown, it will look, feel and function just like a real tooth would in your jaw. In short, dental implants replace missing teeth permanently, and comfortably.

Dental implants are a fantastic solution for people who have loose or ill-fitting dentures. Dental implants require no fixodents or denture adhesives, and food like corn on the cob and apples, awkward-to-impossible to eat with dentures, are no problem at all.

Implants are also cleaned just like natural teeth would be, with a regular brushing and flossing routine.

Can dental implants really be placed in a day?

Traditional dental implant procedures can take up to a year (and many visits to the dentists office) to complete from start to finish, and require the patient to wear a set of uncomfortable dentures in the interim.

Today’s advanced dental technology makes it possible for patients to have their implants placed much more quickly and with less discomfort. In certain cases, the implant procedure can be accomplished in a single day; sometimes even in an hour.

These new procedures are also less invasive, which makes them less painful, and reduces recovery time. With Teeth-In-A-Day, your interim set of implant-supported teeth are placed on the same day, so that you are never without a full set of teeth.
